Judging will focus on 3 areas:
- Quality of the photographs
- How well the photo set tells the story of the subject
- Their use of appropriate and different photography techniques to best tell their story
Photography techniques they might use to tell the story:
- Distance from subject: long shot (context), medium shot, close up (detail)
- Format: vertical or horizontal; color or black and white
- Point of view: above (bird's eye), level, or below (snake's eye), in front of, beside, behind
- rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, action shots, silhouette, contrast
